Regional Testing

The OSE offers regional testing at no charge for the following entry-level exams:

  • Firefighter
  • Police Officer
  • Jailer
  • Fire Communications Officer
  • Police Communications Officer
  • Departmental Records Clerk
  • Secretary to the Chief Exams

Each exam will be offered every other month. (See Table below for which exam is offered when).

Applications must be received during their specified posting period. Any applications received before or after the posting periods will be rejected. We will post for a specific 10-day period the month before each exam date.

If you are requesting Veteran’s Points or an American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodation you will be required to submit your supporting documents separately from the application. You must email them to OSEregionaltesting@la.gov during the posting period, and before the application deadline. Failure to timely provide the documents will result in you not receiving any Veteran’s Points or an ADA accommodation. ***Veteran’s Points are up to 5 points and only applied to a passing score***

REGIONAL TESTING PROCESS:

  1. APPLY to take the EXAM with the OSE at the link provided below ONLY during official posting periods.
    • Must be a US Citizen
    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • All Veteran’s Points and ADA Accommodation Requests must be received by the application deadline to the OSEregionaltesting@la.gov address.
  2. Once an application has been accepted, follow the instructions provided to you in the email sent from our office (emails will come from OSERegionalTesting@la.gov)
  3. Take your test at your scheduled time and schedule
  4. You will then receive your grade via email. Grades are sent 1-2 weeks after the test date.
