Applications are only accepted during official posting periods. Applicants will be notified by email at least 5 days prior to the exam of the official date, time, and location of the exam.

As of March of 2023 the Office of State Examiner will now be offering statewide testing for the Entry Level Police Communications exam. Applicants who pass the exam can then transfer their score to any civil service board they would like to.  We will post for a period of 10 days for each monthly exam.

In order to apply to take the Police Communications Officer exam you must apply during the 10-day posting period listed below.

If you are requesting Veteran’s Points or an American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodation you will be required to submit your supporting documents separately from the application. You must email them to OSEregionaltesting@la.gov  during the posting period, and before the application deadline.

Police Communications Officer Application

You will receive test information and your test score only by the email you supply on your application.  If you have not received an email from OSEregionaltesting@la.gov five (5) days prior to the exam date, please contact Courtney Territo at 225-925-7053.

Once you apply, take, and pass the exam you must then contact the civil service board you wish to be employed with, fill out an application, and report your score to them. Once their board approves your application you will be placed on an eligibility list and you may then begin your working test period.

The Office of State Examiner will begin accepting applications on April 8, 2024
