PLEASE NOTE
The Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Law was amended as a result of the 2005 Regular Legislative Session. As of this writing, the web sites of both the Legislature of the State of Louisiana and West Group (WestLaw) have not posted the civil service law in its final amended form. However, in our endeavor to provide the most accurate and current information to local fire and police civil service boards, local officials, and employees of the classified service, the Office of State Examiner has included those sections of civil service law which were either added or amended, and which are reflected in the Acts of 2005 obtained from the Legislature’s website. These sections are temporarily underlined. The lines will be removed upon verification with the final publication of the law.
